Hogsbane

The big problem with body horror is related to its shallowness. Rare are the works that transform the visceral impact of the narration into something more complex, ironic, labyrinthine, without neglecting its necessary brutality. In this sense, the short stories of "Hogsbane", by Erik Bagger Hviid, materialize the most absolute viscerality of the horror we have in front of our (and other) bodies in their most pathetic configurations, at the same time that build a spellbound and fantastic narrative erection, close to the best of the genre.
